One person was killed and a two others injured including a man from Hutchinson in a Finney County crash on Christmas.

Killed was 27-year-old Matthew Scott Anderson of Garden City. He was driving a Honda Civic and was attempting to pass another vehicle on a bridge. He didn’t realize he didn’t have time to pass and veered back into his lane, but over-corrected and lost control on the slick road surface of the bridge. He then struck a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Martin Heiman of Hutchinson.

Hieman and his passenger were both taken to a Garden City hospital for treatment.

The accident occurring around 4:40 p-m, Christmas Day 2-miles south of Garden City on U-S 83.
