PLEVNA, Kan. — Rural Fire District 6 and other rural crews spent the middle of the day Monday fighting a large brush fire in western Reno County.

Crews were called out around 11:15 to an area near Clark and Jordan Springs Road, or about 4 miles north of Plevna.

Firefighters had to battle hot temperatures and strong winds in fighting the blaze, which was mostly contained by the middle of the afternoon, although some crews stayed on the scene to monitor the situation.

There are no reports of any injuries or damage.
