HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Cause of a fire in Hutchinson early Saturday is still undetermined.
But, Police Lt. Marty Robertson says they are waiting on soil samples that were apparently taken by the Kansas State Fire Marshal. Wichita Fire investigators were also assisting with the investigation according to Robertson.
Fire Crews responded to the fire in 1300 block of East 25th around 5:30 a.m.
Fireman encountered heavy fire involvement throughout the entire structure. At the time of arrival, it was believed that the occupants of the home were still inside, so crews attempted to locate them by searching the structure and didn’t find anyone inside. They were then notified that the occupants were able to escape and were safe at a neighbor’s house.
The cause of the fire is again still under investigation and no damage estimate has been given.
