NICKERSON, Kan. Rural Fire crews were sent to a house fire in the 2400 block of North Nickerson Rd, near Nickerson late Tuesday evening.

The call coming in around 10:20 p.m. to the single family home which was apparently being renovated and was not occupied.

Reno County Sheriff Deputy Travis Vogt was sent to the scene to investigate whether there was anything suspicious. He specializes in arson investigations. The exact cause has not been determined, but Sheriff Captain Darrian Campbell says they suspect it may have been an electrical issue in the laundry room of the home.

No injuries reported from this incident and no damage estimate was available.
