Flood Warning issued for Reno and Rice counties

A flood warning has been issued for Cow Creek near Hutchinson, affecting Reno and Rice counties.

This warning is in effect from Saturday morning until further notice.

At 7:15 a.m. Friday, the stage was 6.9 feet — the flood stage is 9.5 feet.

Minor flooding is forecast.

Water should rise above flood stage by late Saturday morning and continue to rise to near 10.3 feet by Tuesday morning.

At 10.5 feet, there would be numerous road closures northwest of Hutchinson because of high water. Low water crossing on 43rd Street just east of Pennington floods. Expect road closure on 43rd Street between Pennington to Hendricks roads. Also, 69th Street floods between Wilson to Pennington roads. Then, 50th Street floods between Wilson and Pennington roads. Flooding occurs along Pennington Road from Nickerson Boulevard to 50th Avenue.

The Flood Warning for Reno and Harvey counties is no longer in effect.
