HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It was a who’s who of pilots and astronauts as the Cosmosphere held its third annual Fly Around Dine Around fundraiser Saturday night.

Honored guests included numerous pilots that flew the SR-71 spy plane that hangs in the museum’s lobby. It also included Apollo 13 astronauts Jim Lovell and Fred Haise, along with Apollo 16 astronaut Charles Duke. The evening included a dinner with the pilots and astronauts followed by the red carpet roll out and a small talk session with Lovell, Haise and Duke, who took time to talk about the Apollo 13 mission in which Haise and Lovell were forced to abandon their moon mission after an explosion crippled their space craft.

The Saturday night event capped off a full schedule of activities including meetings with various groups, autograph signings and a special admission to the museum’s many displays.
