Fraese Drug is on the move. The drug store and soda fountain which contemplated moving out of the Wiley Building in a dispute with the buildings owner last year, announced Thursday that they are going to leave the Wiley Building and move to a new location at 25 North Main. The best news about this move, the soda fountain, which has been a part of Hutchinson for more than 70-years, will be going with them as well.
At the time of their first announcement last year, owner Don Kauffman indicated that they could not take the soda fountain with them due to the expense of moving it and finding a location suitable for it. Last minute negotiations with building owner George Nerhan stopped the move. Nerhan has received notice of the move.
Fraese will close the soda fountain on March 10, and remained closed until sometime in April. The soda fountain will offer coffee and donuts from 8 a-m to 10 a-m and 1-4 p-m, for as long as possible up to the moving date.
The pharmacy will move on Saturday March 31, and will reopen the next Monday April 2.
