Free document shredding next week

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas Attorney General’s Office will mark National Consumer Protection Week with a free document destruction event in Hutchinson and across the state.

The office will sponsor free document destruction at eight locations throughout the state from March 4 through March 9, which is National Consumer Protection Week.

Securely shredding personal documents is an important step toward preventing identity theft.

This Tuesday, March 5, a shredding event will be in Hutchinson from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the state fairgrounds at Gate 3 — 23rd and Main.

Residents are asked to limit their documents for destruction to three small bags or boxes.

Documents will be securely transported to the shredding facility for safe destruction by certified shredding companies.
