HUTCHINSON – Even though Friday unofficially begins spring break for students in USD 308, school officials say district staff in Hutchinson will spend some of the day in professional development that spans multiple buildings and grade levels.

The most popular session of the day will be project-based learning. More than 50 educators will be involved in the class at Wiley Elementary School on Friday morning. Another popular session is on trauma-informed classrooms, which will draw more than 40 educators to Graber Elementary School.

The day also gives educators who need to be certified in CPR a chance to get that training.

There also will be sessions on using data in the classroom, basics and advanced techniques for both Microsoft Office and the Google suite of tools, as well as other district web-based tools and the Physical Education Task Force.

Most of the professional development is being provided by district staff to district staff.
