Gary Slaven, 65, passed away June 28, 2019, at Hospice House. Gary was born September 7, 1953, in Newton, KS, the son of Fred and Vada Slaven.
Gary enlisted in the United States Army in 1976 and was honorably discharged. In 1985 he enlisted in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1993.
Gary worked in the maintenance department for the City of Hutchinson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Goluba and step-daughter, Roberta Rogers.
He is survived by his wife Lenora; step-children, Tammie Faulkner, Nonie Green and DeAnna Fisher; brothers, Dwight Slaven, Billy Slaven, and David Slaven; sisters, Alice Jantz and Sharon Davis; nieces, Misty Faulkner, Amber Slaven, Viola Jantz, Lisa Jantz and Amanda Walker; nephews, Justin Fitzgerald, Fred Jantz, Jeremy Jantz, Travis Slaven, Phillip Davis and Matthew Davis.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., July 6, 2109 at Salt City Cowboy Church, 810 N. Main, South Hutchinson, KS.
