TOPEKA – Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has announced his appointment of Faith Maughan of Wichita to the 18th Judicial District.

“Ms. Maughan has served the south central Kansas area since becoming a lawyer,” said Governor Brownback. “She is well qualified to serve the 18th Judicial District.”

Faith Maughan received her undergraduate degree from Washburn University and her Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law. She currently serves as a Judge for the City of Colwich, as well as City Prosecutor for the cities of Maize, Park City, and Cheney. Ms. Maughan is also a Captain in the United State Army Reserve and serves in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. She also at one time worked for the Reno County District Attorney’s Office under District Attorney Keith Schroeder.

There are 31 Judicial Districts in Kansas and the 18th District covers Sedgwick County.
