Two schools in USD 308 were honored for their work with technology-rich classrooms during the recent annual Tech Rich Classrooms Celebration event in Wichita.

Avenue A Elementary School won the best project based learning lesson plan for the year. The Avenue A project dealt with students holding a school carnival. The students built their carnival games, emphasizing the fairness of the games.

Graber Elementary School won the best teaching video for their project on making informational QR code bookmarks for the Dillon Nature Center, Reno County Museum, Underground Salt Museum and the Hutchinson Animal Shelter. Because of this project, we were also asked to make a QR Code message that went into the community time capsule.

Beth Redinger, principal at Avenue A, won the administrator of the year award for the work she did in making TRC successful at her school.

The awards were given out at the annual TRC Celebration event that was held at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita on April 26.

Jean Rowland serves as the Tech Rich Classrooms grant facilitator for both Avenue A and Graber.
