Gray named Youth of the Year

HUTCHINSON, Kan. β€” The Boys and Girls Club of Hutchinson named Tavian Gray the 2018 Youth of the Year.

The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle.

As the local Youth of the Year, Tavian will serve as an ambassador for all teens in the local club, will receive a $1,000 college scholarship from BGCH, and will go on to compete in the state Youth of the Year competition. Tavian is a junior at Hutchinson High School. He’s been a member of the Boys & Girls Club for 10 years.

His hobbies include: drumline, marching band, concert band, Salthawk wrestling and Salthawk football. He has been involved in Keystone Club β€” the Boys & Girls Clubs leadership development program β€” since he was a freshman in high school and has attended the Key Leader camp at Rock Springs the past two years where he has furthered his leadership skills along with other teens from around the state.
