HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Jazmin Hartshorn’s career performance against Cowley last Friday earned the Hutchinson Community College sophomore forward Jayhawk Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors, the league released on Wednesday.

In Hutchinson’s home opener at the Salthawk Sports Complex, Hartshorn had a 10-point game in a 12-0 Blue Dragon victory over the Tigers.

Hartshorn, a Hutchinson High School product, had career highs of four goals and two assists. Before Friday, Hartshorn hadn’t had a multi-goal or multi-assist game in her Blue Dragon career.

For the season, Hartshorn has five goals on 11 shots on goal.

Hartshorn is the third Blue Dragon this season to capture conference player of the week honors. In Week 1, Jordan Downing was Player of the Week and Caroline Howard was Goalkeeper of the Week. Howard went on to win NJCAA National Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

Hartshorn is now eligible to win NJCAA national honors. That award will be announced on Thursday.
