HAVEN, Kan. — The city of Haven is extending water use restrictions through 5 p.m. on May 31 to take the load off the city sewer system.
The effort will lessen the amount of water entering the city’s wastewater sewer system.
Officials say all the recent rain is bogging down the city’s lift stations, making it nearly impossible for them to keep up.
At this time, adding any water to the sewer system should be avoided.
Residents are asked to limit laundry, showers, baths, etc. Those cleaning up water in their house are asked to dump it outside on the ground and not into the sewer system.
