Haven school board approves date for budget public hearing

HAVEN, Kan. — The Haven USD 312 school board got their first look at the 2019 budget and set a date for August 20 for their public hearing. The proposed budget for next year totals $15,927,781 on taxes levied of $4,185,347.

The mill levy for the district would be 60.707 mills if approved following the public hearing.

Also Monday, the board got word that someone had made an offer on the Partridge Elementary School. Clark Wedel, Superintendent, said the offer was $50,000 which is well below the current asking price of $300,000.

The Board gave the go ahead to use the remaining bond funds from a facilities improvement project to make improvements to the football stadium. Wedel says, the district has a little over $500,000 and may try to make improvements to the stadium bleachers and press box along with other improvements.
