Haven water restrictions lifted

HAVEN, Kan. — Water restrictions in Haven have been lifted.

According to Public Works Director Derek Stoll, the restrictions put in place a week ago Sunday were lifted as water runoff from the heavy rainfall subsided.

Stoll reported no major incidents from the water runoff in regards to the storm sewers, but conserving water kept the system from overloading.

In South Hutchinson, city officials are still asking residents to keep water usage under control to keep the storm and sanitary sewers from being overtaxed.

Water seepage continues to be a problem especially in the northeast areas of the city. City Superintendent James Dull says things are getting better, but until the Arkansas River goes down, some problems will persist.
