Not long after the word of Whitney Houston’s untimely death on Saturday evening, Hutchinson Community College basketball fans started to talk about remembering Whitney’s older brother and the fact that he had once attended HCC on a basketball scholarship and had played for former HCC coach Gary Bargen from 1979-1981.

Michael Houston was a backup guard for the dragons for both of those seasons and was from Newark, New Jersey.  Once he left HCC, he went to work for his sister and worked for Houston Enterprises as he does to this day.
