HCC VB at home tonight

HUTCHINSON, Kan. After one week off, the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team returns to HCC VBthe court on Wednesday to take on the Garden City Broncbusters in a Jayhawk West match up.

The 6:30 p.m. match will be at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. With the Arena still under construction, access to the building will be on the west side of the Arena only.

The Blue Dragons enter the match on a three match-win streak – all three matches by sweep – after last Wednesday’s key early-season home victory over Seward County.

Hutchinson hit .337 against the Saints, led by Kyann Eslick’s nine kills and .412 hitting. HCC also had seven blocks. Hutch has hit .419 over its last three matches.

The Blue Dragons are hitting .288 as a team for the season. Hutch is averaging 11.1 kills, 1.98 blocks, 11.55 digs and 1.55 ace serves per set.

Garden City has dropped four straight entering play on Wednesday. The Busters dropped a 3-1 league decision at home on Fridayto Dodge City. Ashley Webb had 10 kills to pace Garden City in that match.

For the season, the Busters are hitting .180 as a team with 10.04 kills, 1.39 blocks, 18.04 digs and 1.61 aces per set.

This weekend, the Blue Dragons travel to Twin Falls, Idaho to play four matches in the College of Southern Idaho/Starr Classic before returning home next Wednesday to take on Dodge City.
