KANSAS CITY, Mo. –The Kansas City Chiefs will close out the 2019 preseason home schedule on Saturday welcoming the San Francisco 49ers to Arrowhead Stadium for a 7 p.m. matchup.

Youth Football Night at Arrowhead Stadium
Saturday night’s game will focus on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Hunt Family Foundation’s support of the NFL’s Play 60 and Youth Football movements. Four local youth football teams, the Bonner Springs Braves, the Seaman Vikings, the CCJA Mustangs and the Pleasant Hill Roosters, will join both the Chiefs and 49ers on each team’s respective sideline during the national anthem. At halftime, all four teams will participate in a scrimmage on the Arrowhead Stadium field.
The Chiefs aim to help contribute to the NFL movement for an active generation by encouraging young fans to eat healthy and be active for at least 60 minutes a day. The Chiefs have championed spreading the NFL’s Play 60 message of living a healthy lifestyle through exercise and healthy eating through schools, community groups, and other agencies.
This week, the Chiefs First Pass Community Quarterback will be Tony Severino, tenured head football coach at Rockhurst High School who will retire following the 2019 season. Severino will leave Rockhurst as one of the most decorated high school football coaches in the country, owning the third-most wins (338) in Missouri high school football history and seven Missouri High School Football State Championships. Severino is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and was named the Chiefs Missouri High School Coach of the Year in 1998.
Construction Surrounding Arrowhead
All fans are reminded that MoDOT has commenced a multi-year construction project on sections of I-435 and I-70. Please be advised that there will be detours on game day at the I-435 and I-70 Interchange for travelers on Southbound I-435 toward Arrowhead Stadium. Parking Gates
Parking lot gates for Saturday night’s game open at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead and purchase passes in advance on chiefs.com/parking. Purchasing parking passes in advance is a more cost-effective method and can help expedite entry into the Arrowhead Stadium parking lots. Parking passes can be accessed via the Chiefs Mobile App on game day.
Red Parking passes are $40 when pre-paid online at Chiefs.com and $60 cash only at the tollgates.
Stadium Gates
All Arrowhead Stadium gates will open at 5 p.m. for the 7 p.m. opening kickoff. Gates for guests with CommunityAmerica Club Level tickets will open at 4:30 p.m.
Ford Tailgate District
The Ford Tailgate District is returning to Arrowhead Stadium for the 2019 season. Located in Lot M outside of the Founder’s Plaza on the north side of the stadium, the free Ford Tailgate District features drink specials, food trucks, tailgating games and live entertainment leading up to kickoff of all Chiefs home games. The Ford Tailgate District will open at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in Lot M.
National Anthem and Color Guard
“The Voice” finalist Holly Tucker is scheduled to perform the national anthem and this week’s color guard presentation will be conducted by the U.S. Navy Sea Cadets of Kansas City.
GEHA Drum Deck
New in 2019, the club is introducing an exciting new space to the Arrowhead Stadium gameday experience, the GEHA Drum Deck. Located below the west scoreboard in the upper level, the GEHA Drum Deck is a new, permanent site for two gameday traditions – the Drum Honoree and the Tony DiPardo Spirit Leader. Carolyn Delaney, wife of Chiefs Hall of Fame RB Joe Delaney, will serve as Saturday’s Drum Honoree and Officer Rick Landon of the North Kansas City Police Department will be the game’s Tony DiPardo Spirit Leader.
The new GEHA Drum Deck takes an exciting and important part of the gameday experience from the field level and elevates it to a more prominent position in the stadium, bringing fans in the upper level closer than ever before to a pair of special Arrowhead traditions.
Lamar Hunt Legacy Seat
To help celebrate the franchise’s 60th season, the Kansas City Chiefs introduced the Lamar Hunt Legacy Seat at Arrowhead Stadium. For each home game in the 2019 season, the club will select one honoree (plus one guest) who embodies the spirit of Lamar Hunt and represents the four pillars of the Chiefs Mission: Win with Character, Unite our Community, Inspire our Fans and Honor Tradition.
The two gold seats are located in Section 121 of the lower bowl, symbolically positioned under Lamar Hunt’s name in the team’s Ring of Honor. Saturday’s honoree is Paul Thomas, head football coach at West Platte High School in Weston, Mo.
Thomas’ tenure includes a successful stretch as a head football coach in the greater Kansas City area, as well as serving as an advocate for high school football in the state of Missouri. Thomas took over as the head football coach at West Platte following the passing of his dear friend Nate Danneman, former head football coach at West Platte. Thomas felt the call to continue building what Danneman had started at West Platte High School and did so by becoming the next head football coach of the Blue Jays, leading the program through the foundation set by Danneman to support young adults through high school athletics.
Hunt Family Foundation 50/50 Raffle
Saturday’s Hunt Family Foundation 50/50 Raffle will benefit the Derrick Thomas/Neil Smith Third and Long Foundation to help promote youth literacy. The Foundation strives to impact the lives of local youth facing challenging situations by providing opportunities to improve literacy rates.
Raffle tickets will remain on sale through the end of the third quarter. To help make purchasing raffle tickets at Arrowhead Stadium more accessible, a credit card option is now available at kiosks located inside the stadium. Additionally, fans can now participate in the raffle online at chiefs.com/fans/5050raffle (some restrictions apply).

The game can be heard on KCFX 101 The Fox, home of the Chiefs Radio Network, as the “Voice of the Chiefs” Mitch Holthus, former Chiefs LS Kendall Gammon and sideline reporter Dani Welniak bring the action.
