TOPEKA (AP) – A Kansas judge is expected to decide next week whether a 51-year-old woman will go on trial for the 2002 killings of her ex-husband and his fiancee as they slept in a Topeka home.

The preliminary hearing for Dana Chandler on two counts of premeditated first-degree murder wrapped up Thursday in Shawnee County District Court.

Chandler was living in Oklahoma when she was arrested in July – nine years and three weeks after her ex-husband, Mike Sisco, and his fiancee, Karen Harkness, were shot to death.

The defense presented testimony Thursday that no physical evidence connecting Chandler to the killings has ever been found.

The judge will weigh that testimony against statements by prosecution witnesses – including Chandler’s adult children – that Chandler was obsessed with Sisco and stalked both him and Harkness.
