HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Just before noon Tuesday, Hutchinson Firefighters responded to 430 E. Avenue C for a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, they found heavy black smoke and flames coming from a single-car garage. Crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to an adjacent garage just a few feet away.

Crews contained the fire damage to the garage of origin. The garage sustained heavy damage. The owner was home at the time of the incident. The owner reported seeing smoke coming from the garage and called 911.

Hutchinson fire investigators have determined the cause of the fire to be electrical. No injuries were noted.
