TOPEKA, Kan. — State Representative Larry Hibbard of Toronto, Kansas, was awarded the 2018 Kansas State Fair Legislative Showmanship trophy in front of the Kansas House of Representatives on Monday.

Kansas State Fair officials, along with 4-H and FFA members who helped with the fair’s annual showmanship contest, were present.

Several lawmakers from across Kansas participated in this year’s Kansas State Fair Legislative Showmanship, which takes place annually the first Saturday of the fair.

Each lawmaker was assigned a 4-H or FFA youth who provided an animal and coached the lawmaker on showmanship techniques.

The award is sponsored by the Kansas Fairs and Festivals Association.
