MCPHERSON, Kan. — A 32-year-old man is jailed in McPherson County after a high-speed chase in that county Thursday afternoon.
It started around 3:20 p.m. when a McPherson Police Officer attempted to stop a red Pontiac Grand Prix in the 1300 block of North Main in McPherson. The officer observed the vehicle driving recklessly, nearly striking other vehicles on the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle fled from the officer and left the city of McPherson. He continued southwest of town, then eventually headed northeast, back into the city.
Just before 4 p.m., the driver stopped on West Northview Road and the pursuit ended. Officers arrested the male without further incident and transported him to the McPherson County Jail.
Charges against him are pending.
No one was injured in the chase and only minor damage was caused to one McPherson County Sheriff’s Office vehicle during the pursuit.
The name of the suspect was not released.
