Holiday season means more chances to catch the flu

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — With the holiday season upon us, everyone is going to be undergoing a lot of social interaction with family, friends and others. However this can also mean being exposed to viruses including the flu.

Director of the Reno County Health Department Nick Baldetti says even now, it’s time to get a flu shot, but there is some lag time before it’s at full strength:

Some people wait to get their flu shot later because they believe that if they get it too early, it won’t be effective through the whole season. Baldetti says that’s not the case:

Flu shots are available at most pharmacies, the health department and of course from you’re own doctor.
