Homicide investigation in Barber County continues

HARDTNER – Barber County authorities are investigating a homicide, after a man was found shot to death inside a Hardtner home at 300 block of N. Main. The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Tony Rosenbaum.

According to a news release from the Barber County Sheriff’s Office, the first call came into dispatch just before 12:30 a-m. Officers with the Barber County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded, but about that time, there was another call to Barber County Dispatch who reported a woman had been shot at the same residence. It was determined that her injuries were not life threatening. She was taken to a Kiowa hospital.

Law Enforcement were unable to determine if anyone was in the house, so the Highway Patrol Special Response Team was called in and made entry into the home around 8 a-m, Tuesday morning.

Inside the home, they found the body of Rosenbaum. Officials say they’re working the case as a homicide and they have no suspects at this time.
