Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, a member of the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, is the 2013 recipient of the Outstanding Community Resource Award from TECH.
Marcy Kauffman, Director of Marketing and Special Events for TECH, said TECH feels blessed to have organizations such as Hospice and HomeCare in the Hutchinson community to serve people with their end of life care needs.
Merrile King, RN, and Joni Tucker, MSW, attended the recent event and accepted the award on behalf of Hospice and HomeCare. King and Tucker said it was a high honor to participate in the TECH Recognition Night as representatives for Hospice & HomeCare. “We felt like we were part of a great big family,” commented King in accepting the award, while Tucker said the award seemed even more special in that it came as a total surprise.
Kevin Miller, President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, said the award came as no surprise, in that the Hospice and HomeCare staff work tirelessly with families and their loved ones who are confronted with end of life issues.
TECH is a 40-year-old organization, founded in 1973 to serve individuals of all ages with disabilities to provide an opportunity for these individuals to live full and productive lives through advocacy, education, and quality supports.
