HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The sports calendar for Hutchinson Community College is packed full this week with most teams competing on the road with the exception of Saturday’s big game that matches No. 1 Hutchinson hosting No. 2 Butler at Gowans Stadium at noon.
Golf and volleyball are in action on Monday with the linksters headed down to Monkey Island, Oklahoma, for the Missouri Southern Fall Invite and Patrick Hall’s volleyballers, who bounced back in their own Hutch Classic to win twice over top 15 teams on Saturday, head to El Dorado to take on the Grizzlies.
Wednesday has women’s soccer on the road to take on a tough Cloud County team at 2 p.m. and volleyball is in action at Independence that evening.
Friday is packed full with volleyball traveling down to Tyler, Texas. Hutch’s first match is at noon versus MSU-West Plains. Cross country will participate in the Emporia State Invitational and volleyball will wrap up the day by taking on host Tyler at 6 p.m. at the Tyler JC Classic.
And then there is Saturday. No. 1 Hutchinson football hosts No. 2 Butler at noon at Gowans Stadium. This will be the game of the week in the NJCAA and the KJCCC. General admission tickets are on sale at the athletic office at the Sports Arena. Call 665-3594 and ask for Scott.
