Hutch man arrested after serious domestic altercation

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 33-year-old man was arrested around 4 a.m. Thursday after officers were called to the 300 block of West 5th on a disturbance report.

Brian Bade was jailed for one count of aggravated battery — domestic violence.

When officer’s arrived, they found a 47-year-old woman sitting on a porch with blood on her head, in her hair, and a knot the size of a golf ball. They could also see shards of glass in her hair.

Later, they found a broken bottle behind a chair and blood on the chair and floor. According to the police affidavit, they also found a broken bottle and a bloody rag near the door, and blood on the door and the porch.

The victim was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where it was determined she suffered a concussion. She also had seven stitches and two staples for the wound on her head.

The victim believes she may have lost consciousness during the ordeal and was unsure why she was struck.

Bond in the case was set at $10,000. Bade should make a first appearance on the charge Friday morning.
