HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 30-year-old Hutchinson man saw his bond increase to $10,000 after an incident on Friday where he allegedly threatened and battered a man in the 100 block of East Avenue A.

Timothy Jackson had just been placed on community corrections for a drug possession charge and was then arrested for aggravated assault and battery. It started with him throwing a rock and breaking the glass in a sliding door. The victim then confronted him for that and the fight began. He allegedly pushed the victim, causing him to fall to the ground and then kicked him while he was down. He also allegedly pulled a knife and threatened to kill him with it.

In court, he requested a signature bond, which was denied. He apparently has prior felonies out of Texas and the fact that he was just granted corrections in another case caused Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen to deny an OR bond and instead increased it.

Jackson will be back in court on Feb. 29 for the reading of formal charges.
