Hutch man arrested on drugs charges makes court appearance

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 26-year-old Hutchinson man who was arrested Thursday evening on drug related charges and refused to appear before a judge Friday morning, did finally appear before a judge Monday morning.

Tyler McClanahan faces possible charges of being in possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, no tax stamp and personal use drug paraphernalia.

The arrest coming just before 8:30 p.m. by Hutchinson Police in the 600 block of East 1st.

Police alleged they found a black case with a clear glass pipe containing meth residue, a bag of marijuana with three smaller bags also containing the drug, plus additional bags. Total weight of around 42-grams.

During the court appearance, his bond was left at $16,500 and he’ll be back in court next Monday for the reading of any formal charges.
