Hutch Man Arrested On Meth Charges Back In Court Monday

Joshua Rund

A 36-year-old Hutchinson man with a lengthy criminal history and with two cases pending in Reno County District Court was back in court Monday after he apparently failed to show in court last week.

Joshua Rund was arrested on a 40-thousand dollar bench warrant, but his bonding agent told the judge it was her fault he didn’t appear in court because she gave him the wrong date. So Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen lowered the bond from the 40-thousand to the original 29-thousand, 500-dollars.

Rund had been arrested around 8:15 p-m, on September 6, for charges of criminal possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also arrested was 32-year-old Ellen Rund on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She is free on Bond.

The two had apparently gotten a room at 2605 East 4th, but were arrested in the 1100 block of East 11th.

Rund has a fairly substantial criminal history with convictions for manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of ephedrine, drug paraphernalia, two previous convictions for criminal possession of a firearm in cases from 2002 and 2003. .

Joshua Rund will be back in court on October 2.
