After the preliminary hearing Monday, a 19-year-old Hutchinson man was bound over for trial now charged with five off-grid felonies that could see him get life sentences on each count with no chance of parole for 25-years on each count.

Brandon Cousins is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy and now three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. The alleged crimes involving a then 6-year-old girl and allegedly occurred between January 7 and July 23, of last year.

The grandmother of the victim took the stand Monday and told of her suspicions of what may have occurred. She confronted the child who at first stated nothing happened, staring at the ceiling and pacing, but told of what happened. The grandmother then called police.

The investigation by Hutchinson Police led to Cousins arrest back on December 15, 2012. Police Detective Scott Carlton also took the stand as well as the victim.

With him bound over for trial, arraignment in the case will set for May 6.
