A 26-year-old Hutchinson man accused of four counts of abuse of a child was bound over a trial after a preliminary hearing Thursday.

Bradley Cole is accused of causing severe bruising on their bodies, one a 3-year-old and the other, a 6-year-old. Two of the charges are alternate counts to the other two, meaning he can only be found guilty on two counts.

Cole was apparently hired to watch the kids by his mother while she was at work. Both she and her sister testified that neither child had bruising prior to them leaving the kids with Cole. The alleged crimes occurring back on August 1, 2013.

He is also charged with possession of methamphetamine where he was allegedly in possession of the drugs on August 9.

A request by the defense to lower his bond was granted by Judge Joe McCarville which lowered it from 12-thousand, 500-dollars, to 7-thousand, 500.

District Attorney Keith Schroeder says he will file a motion for an upward departure sentence in the case.

Cole will be arraigned on the charges on December 2.
