A 27-year-old Hutchinson man who allegedly sold drugs twice to drug unit detectives back in July was in court this morning for the reading of the complaints.

There are actually two cases against Matthew Gulick for selling mathamphetamine to undercover officers. The first occurring on July 24 and the second on July 31.

In the first case, he allegedly sold less then a gram to the officer, and the second time, it was 3.5 grams sold. Both times, this was at a local intersection near the 5th Street Dillon’s.

The first case is a level D-4, on the drug sentencing grid with a sentencing range of 14-to-51 months in prison. The second case is a level D-3, on the drug sentencing grid with a sentencing range of 46-to-83 month sentence. In the second case, Gulick is also charged with having no tax stamp which is a level 10, non-person felony with a sentencing range of 5-to-13 months in prison.

With the charges filed, the case will move to a waiver-status docket on October 22.
