A 21-year-old Hutchinson man is jailed on a 25-thousand dollar bond on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Zachary Brawner is alleged to have had sexual relations with a 15-year-old teen with the initials B.L.S. It’s a violation of state law for sex with an underage teen even if its consensual. The alleged crime occurring back on September 10, 2011.

The charge carries a sentencing range of 55 to 247-months in prison, depending on the defendants prior criminal history. It appears that this is Brawners first offense and his father told the court, that he felt so guilty, that he turned himself in.

Brawner asked for a reduction of bond saying he has been cooperative with police. The state objected because of the seriousness of the charge. The judge agreed and the bond stays the same.

The formal charge has already been filed, so the case will now move to a waiver-status docket on July 17.
