The jury in the case against a 36-year-old Troy Harris charged with aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer found him “not guilty” of that charge, but found him “guilty” of the drug charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His arrest came back on November 28, 2011 at 6th & Keast. The defendant allegedly had drugs in the coat he denies was his, however it was found near his shoes. He also claims he didn’t know the detective was a law enforcement officer and that’s why he ran but also fought with the officer. But, the state alleges he knew Detective Pat Voth. They say he had prior contact with the detective and also that detective Voth did yell that he was under arrest and that he was a police officer.

Sentencing in the case is set for January 25, at 8:30 a-m. Harris is looking at presumptive prison for the two drug convictions. The paraphernalia charge is a misdemeanor.
