A 40-year-old Hutchinson man arrested back on January 2nd, and charged with felony flee and elude, a misdemeanor count of stalking and a misdemeanor count harassment by phone made a no contest plea Monday to the flee and elude charge, while the state dropped the two misdemeanors.

Michael Moore of 403 East Bigger was arrested on the charges after apparently leading police on a chase. He was finally taken into custody in the unit block of West 2nd.

This case is apparently over a domestic situation with his estranged wife where he was allegedly calling her repeatedly, to the point that she called police. At one point, it was alleged that he called and an officer was on the phone and Moore then used vulgar language and hung up. He claimed at the time of his arrest that he didn’t realize it was an officer on the phone.

Moore was reported to have had a gun with one bullet in the chamber and threatened to put a bullet in his head that evening.

Moore will be sentenced on June 29.
