HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A local man escaped serious injury after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a building at 4th & Main.

It happened when the driver, traveling east on 4th, took a sip of coffee. It “went down the wrong pipe” and caused him to choke. He then lost control and struck the south side of Sunset Pawn and Jewelry.

The man who has not yet been identified, was not injured. Police officers were guarding the area of the hole because of the value of items inside the business.

Workers were clearing debris so they could cover up the hole in the brick wall.
