HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 21-year-old man failed to get his bond lowered after he made an initial court appearance in a new case as well as one previously filed.

Police spotted Trevor Hover walking Sunday in the 300 block of East 1st and knew he had outstanding warrants. He got into a vehicle and they stopped him and reportedly ordered him to place the vehicle in park. He refused to do so and at one point, officers pulled a tazer and threatened to use it. He then place the vehicle in drive and took off leading to a chase. At one point, he left the vehicle and ran, but later returned to it and drove off again. He then stopped in the 300 block of North Elm and gave himself up.

Potential new charges include possession of marijuana with two or more priors, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony interference and felony flee and elude.

In court Monday, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen noted that one of the warrants was for failing to appear in a drug distribution case from Sept. He’s charged in that case with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, both with intent to distribute, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and personal use drug paraphernalia. The alleged crimes occurring on Sept. 16.

He also has two other cases where he may face jail time with motions to revoke probation filed. He is accused of failing to appear for hearings in those matters as well.

Judge Allen declined to lower the $29,000 bond, mainly because of his failure to appear.

He now has various court dates for all of these cases.
