MCPHERSON – A 22-year-old Hutchinson man was taken to a McPherson hospital Tuesday evening after he lost control of his vehicle on K-61 near McPherson.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Nicholas Earl Gilbert was southbound on K-61, lost control on the ice, struck a guardrail, and flipped his SUV over.

He was wearing a seatbelt, but as taken to the hospital in McPherson for treatment of his injuries.

The accident occurring about 6:45 p-m, on K-61 at the K-153 split on the south edge of McPherson.
