NEWTON – A 57-year-old Hutchinson man was injured in a motorcycle accident in Harvey County early Wednesday morning.

Monte R. Borders entered a round-a-bout near I-135 and Broadway at a high rate of speed, and he apparently applied his brakes, but according to the Kansas Highway Patrol, his rear tire locked up and the motorcycle then slid sideways and the Borders was ejected off the bike.

He was wearing a helmet and was taken to the Newton Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The accident occurring just before 7 a-m.
