Hutch Man Jailed Friday Makes Court Appearance In Solicitation Case

The 20-year-old Hutchinson man jailed Friday when he showed up at a local apartment thinking he was going to meet a 15-year-old girl for a sexual relationship only to be greeted by police made a first court appearance Monday morning.

Justin Richardson was read the complaint on single count of solicitation of a child.

The case centers on Hutchinson Police Detective Scott Carlton communicating with Richardson through Facebook since December 12. Police decided to set up a sting.

Allegedly, Richardson made sexual comments about wanting sexual relations with what he thought was the teenage girl. Carlton told us the suspect walked a mile and half because he had no transportation, but was greeted by police instead.

His request for a reduction of his 30-thousand dollar bond was denied and he was appointed the Regional Public Defenders Office to represent him.

He’s expected back in court for a waiver-status docket on January 15.
