A Hutchinson man who is scheduled to be sentenced in one case later this week made a first appearance on two cases this morning.

24-year-old Robert Fenton III, faces charges of robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal damage to property. He was also detained for failing to appear in other cases.

He asked for a reduction of his 25-thousand dollar bond, which was denied based on his criminal history.

Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen the read a formal complaint against him for two counts of forgery and theft by deception charges. Apparently, he forged two checks at a local bank and received 210-dollars in cash. That allegedly occurring on December 10. Bond in that case set at 15-thousand.

The robbery case will be set for a status hearing on January 25, while the forgery case will be placed on a waiver-status docket for February 8.
