Hutch man on corrections for a 2008 drug case, arrested Friday on pot charges.

A 26-year-old man on community corrections for drug convictions going back to 2008 finds himself in jail again. Benito Santana Montalbo was arrested at his apartment just after 2:30 p-m at his residence at 1811 Lyman.

Charges include possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. But he is also being held on a community corrections violation. He was convicted in 2009 for possession of drugs, and placed on Community Corrections.

He was one of four people arrested on October 28, 2008 at a local motel after a search warrant was served on one of the rooms.

He was arrested along with Jeffrey W. Nienke, Denise Pederson, and Shannon Elliot.

Montalbo was allegedly caught smoking a glass pipe when the warrant was served and officers say burnt residue of meth was found inside. They also found a baggie containing marijuana beside him. He allegedly admitted smoking the meth.

Drug Unit Officers served a search warrant on the motel room at the Comfort Inn at 1621 Super Plaza.

His bond in the latest case set at 5-thousand dollars. Unless he makes that bond, he should make a first appearance on Monday.

Interestingly, a co-defendant in the 2008 case was also arrested Friday for failing to appear in one of the cases facing her.
