HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man arrested by police back in October of 2015 on drug charges was granted one year and six months of community corrections.

Antonio Vigil Sr. was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute within a thousand feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, personal use drug paraphernalia and no tax stamp.

The state amended the complaint down to simple possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Vigil entered a plea to those charges. Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton says he agreed to the plea because the case is old and many of the law enforcement officers involved in the case are no longer available.

The arrest came in the 500 block of North Grandview back on Oct. 21, 2015. Officers received a call from someone about residents using drugs. When they entered the home, they allegedly found Vigil with a razor blade, cutting some methamphetamine. He also had over $800 in cash in his pocket.

Vigil has two convictions going back to the early 90s. In one case from 1992, he was convicted of making a terroristic threat. The other conviction was for burglary in a case from 1993.
