HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 38-year-old man serving time for a number of charges associated with the distribution of drugs was sentenced in another case Friday morning.

Bruce Alexander was arrested on Oct. 27, 2017, by law enforcement officers in Reno County. He entered a plea for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm — a Smith and Wesson .40-caliber handgun and a .25-caliber handgun.

As part of the plea agreement, both sides recommended 9 years for count one, then concurrent sentencing for the other counts. Because of the long sentence in the previous case, it was also recommend this case run concurrent to the sentence he is currently serving from the previous drug case.

Alexander is not eligible for parole until 2026, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
