HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 21-year-old man wanted for failing to appear in an aggravated battery case from April faces more charges.

Devon James Nelson was arrested by police this week for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Apparently law enforcement went to a home in the 500 block of Grandview to serve the warrant for his arrest in the aggravated battery case and discovered the drugs.

The aggravated battery case goes back to April 7, when he’s accused of causing injury to another man using a knife.

His bonds now total $30,500 for the two cases. He should be back in court next week for the reading of charges in the drug case, while the aggravated battery case is now scheduled as part of a waiver-status docket on June 1 in front of Judge Joe McCarville.
