ANDALE, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs got their season off in positive fashion with a win on the road at Andale Thursday night. Hutch took the lead late and defeated the Andale Warhawks 11-9. The game was tied at 4 with the Monarchs batting in the top of the eighth when Scott Wolverton singled on the first pitch of the at-bat to break the tie.
Hutchinson’s Conner Craig went 3 for 4 to lead the Monarchs attack. Hutch put up four runs in the ninth inning. Brayden Whitchurch, Conor Craig, and Jeremiah Ceasar all drove in runs in the frame.
