Hutchinson Police were for a time Thursday looking for a missing Hispanic 7-year-old hispanic girl who was reported missing around 3 p-m Thursday and had last been seen in area of 9th and Adams.

They searched in a wide area for Amelia Marie Hernandez including near the Eagle Media Center with no luck. Police Sgt., Thad Pickard sent out a release to the media at 6:26 p-m, meanwhile, police continued their search and about that same time as the release was sent out, they found the child at McCandles Elementary School.

How the child got from the west side to the east side, and the grounds of McCandles wasn’t immediately known. But, the child was found safe, and Pickard says it doesn’t appear to be anything sinister involved.
